14222 FLUINDAPYR + FLUTRIAFOL ( FMC ) CORN (SWEET) ( 15-22D = CORN (SWEET) SUBGROUP ) UNDER EVALUATION

Reduced Risk Status:
IPM Compatibility: Per Requester: Good Fit; Sweet corn is a specialty crop with limited labeled fungicide options, yet it represents a significant market, so expanding access to effective infurrow/foliar fungicides addresses a real grower need. Fluindapyr and flutriafol represent two distinct modes of action (SDHI and DMI), which supports fungicide resistance management when rotated or tank-mixed, an important consideration for pathogens like Exserohilum turcicum that have shown sensitivity shifts. Foliar application timing is compatible with routine disease scouting and monitoring, allowing treatment to be triggered by observed disease pressure rather than applied on a calendar basis. Xyway are simiar fungicids are in-furrow, thus a unique fungicide for season-long systemic foliar disease protection from the inside out, from root to tassel and stalk to leaf. The use also complements existing projects on cultural practices such as resistant hybrid selection and residue management, fitting into an integrated approach:07/26;
Reasons for need: Northern Corn Leaf Blight (Exserohilum turcicum), Tar Spot (Phyllachora maydis), Common Rust. Primary: Northern Corn Leaf Blight. Sweet corn has few labeled fungicide options for foliar disease control, and NCLB and tar spot are increasing yield-limiting problems in the region. Effective, well-timed foliar/ in-furrow fungicides are needed to protect ear quality and yield, especially as tar spot continues to spread and NCLB is frequent. Current technologies used: None, or limited fungicide application:07/26;
