14124 GLUFOSINATE-P ( BASF ) FIELD PENNYCRESS (OIL SEED) ( 99 = MISC GROUP ) UNDER EVALUATION

Reduced Risk Status:
IPM Compatibility: Per Requester: Good Fit; Glufosinate will be effective in controlling glyphosate-resistant weeds. Glufosinate has little to no soil activity so poses little risk of crop response if applied prior to pennycress planting or emergence. Glufosinate for vegetation burndown will reduce tillage and erosion:05/26;
Reasons for need: Few options exist for control of early emerging winter & late emerging summer annual weeds prior to planting pennycress. interference of established weeds to newly emerging pennycress reduces emergence, stand density, and yield. glufosinate-P is an improved formulation of glufosinate; manufacturer will no longer market a racemic glufosinate product; currently no other burndown/preemergence herbicides are labeled for use in pennycress:05/26;
Requesting State(s): MO:Starke, M* ;
PCR Use Pattern: IR-4 suggests: Apply Liberty ULTRA to non-glufosinate resistant plants once as a burndown prior to planting or prior to crop emergence at 19-34 fl oz/A, 65 day PHI.
