IPM Compatibility: |
Per Requester: Fair Fit; For control of invasive weeds in native grasslands and increasing abundance wild harvested, indigenous food crops, herbicides could be integrated with seeding native grasses and forbs, and reducing soil disturbance:10/24;
|
Reasons for need: |
Control of other broadleaf invasives common in western grass/rangelands e.g. St. johnswort, scotch broom, spotted knapweed to increase Cama abundance and growth. Cama bulbs/corms are harvested, primarly by indigenous groups in the West, in native grasslands. Invasive annual grasses (Bromus tectorum, Ventenata dubia, Taeniatherum caput-medusae and others) compete directly with native perennial grasses, forbs and shrubs. They provide fire fuel resulting in more frequent wildfire and the diverse, deep rooted native range transitions to a monoculture of shallow rooted invasive annual grass. Pre-emergent herbicides are commonly used to control these grasses

Comments: |
Milestone label recommends a nonionic surfactant for better weed control. Follow Milestone label restrictions regarding grass cuttings and hay:10/24; Bayer would like to review next year, after they have had a chance to learn more about how Camas is produced and processed, and how the crop residue is managed, so status updated from Under Eval to (MFG) Hold at this time:10/24/sb;
