IPM Compatibility: |
Per Requester: Very Good Fit; There are very few fungicide options available: Two FRAC 11, one FRAC 3, and one FRAC 7. Pydiflumetofen has performed well in trials and would add a new MOA from FRAC 7. Fungicide resistance development is a concern due to the low number of actives available coupled with the fact that grass seed crops receive multiple fungicide applications to control ergot, powdery mildew, and rust. IPM strategies would be improved with more fungicides incorporated into the rotation. Further, new fungicides coupled with the phenology model and monitoring network developed by OSU/Dung Lab leads to better application timings and improved fungicide control.

Reasons for need: |
Ergot (Claviceps purpurea). Ergot infects the unfertilized flowers of grasses and transforms ovaries into sclerotia, which overwinter and serve as primary inoculum during the following season. Ergot significantly reduces seed yield, and it results in additional yield losses during seed cleaning trying to remove the ergot bodies from the seed; 08/24;

Key Export Market "likely". This PCR is for all cool season grasses like perennial ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescue, tall fescue and bentgrass:08/24/sb; Syngenta supports as Researchable, Residue & E/CS data needed with testing up to 27.4 fl oz x 2 applications on a 14-day interval, 20 day PHI:08/24/sb; at the 2024 workshop, EPA advised Propiconazole is (Hold) Caution, not sure about the other two ai's:09/24/sb; the requester has asked for this project to be withdrawn & removed as an A priority, so the 2024 workshop priority has been changed to a B and the status updated from Researchable, Residue & E/CS Data Needed to Request Withdrawn:10/24/sb;
