Reduced Risk Status: |
|
IPM Compatibility: |
Per Requester: Very Good Fit; Useful in controlling populations with established pesticide resistance. Cross-resistance between FRAC 3 a.i.s difenaconazole, propiconazole and tebuconazole has been documented, all of which Stemphylium vesicarium has developed resistance. In 2023 study, prothioconazole showed no signs of cross-resistance and resulted in excellent control of Stephylium leaf blight and Botrytis leaf blight necrotic spots (not BLB halo lesions).

Reasons for need: |
Stemphylium leaf blight (SLB)(Stemphylium vesicarim) and Botrytis leaf blight (Botrytis squamosa), necrotic spot form of leaf disease. Stemphylium leaf blight has developed fungicide resistance to fungicide active ingredients to varying degrees to FRAC 2, 3, 7, 9 and 11. It has become extremely challenging to control; TX-The Texas Winter Garden is a large producer of onions, both transplant sets and dry bulb and have a significant need for improved control:08/24;
