13362 + METRIBUZIN ( ADAMA,BAYER,UPL NA ) BEAN (SNAP) ( 06-22A = EDIBLE PODDED BEAN SUBGROUP ) E/CS DATA ON-GOING

Reduced Risk Status:
IPM Compatibility: PER REQUESTER, VERY GOO FIT; ALLOWS FOR A MORE DIVERSE HERBICIDE ROTATION OVER 2-YR PERIOD; IS EFFECTIVE ON AMARANTHUS SPECIES TO ALLOW FARMERS TO ACHIEVE EFFECTIVE WEED CONTROL PRIOR TO PLANTING SNAP BEANS AND IMPROVE OVERALL WEED CONTROL
Reasons for need: CURRENTLY THE LABEL DOES NOT ALLOW FOR ROTATING TO SNAP BEANS THE FOLLOWING SEASON; BEING ABLE TO USE METRIBUZIN IN ROTATIONAL CROPS WILL ALLOW FOR A MORE DIVERSE HERBICIDE ROTATION OVER A 2-YR PERIOD; IT WILL ALLOW FARMERS TO ACHIEVE EFFECTIVE WEED CONTROL PRIOR TO PLANTING SNAPBEANS AND IMPROVE OVERALL CONTROL
Requesting State(s): DE:VanGessel M* ; MD:Vollmer, K ; OH:Robinson, A ; OR:Peachey, E ;
PCR Use Pattern: METRIBUZIN 75DF, APPLY AT 3-12 OZ WT, TO SOIL WITH 1 APPLIC; APPLY TO SOYBEANS WITH THE EXISTING LABEL REQUIREMENTS; MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH LATE-PLANTED SOYBEAN
EPA Default Residue Trials: 1 2 3 5-3 10 11

Residue Protocol Use Pattern:
Efficacy/Crop Safety (E/CS) Data Required:
E/CS Research Comments: IN THE 2023 PERFORMANCE PROTOCOL: COLLECTING PERFORMANCE DATA TO SUPPORT REDUCTION OF REGISTERED ROTATIONAL INTERVALS FOR SEVERAL CROPS FOLLOWING METRIBUZIN APPLIC (SNAP BEAN [PR# 13362], LIMA BEAN [PR# 13383], SWEETPOTATO [PR# 13356], WATERMELON [PR# 13363], AND SPINACH [PR# 13364]); TRIAL SITES WILL BE PLANTED TO SOYBEANS IN 2023 AT THE LATEST PLANTING DATE THAT SOYBEANS CAN BE PLANTED IN THE TEST AREA; TWO RATES OF METRIBUZIN (GLORY FDF - 75% W/W OF METRIBUZIN) WILL BE APPLIED (IN 10-40 GPA) PREEMERGENCE TO BARE SOIL, AFTER SOYBEAN SEEDING, BUT BEFORE CROP EMERGENCE, AT EACH SITE (1X AND 2X THE GLORY LABEL RATE, BASED ON SOIL TYPE AND % ORGANIC MATTER); TRIAL AREA MUST BE LARGE ENOUGH TO PREPARE SOIL AND PLANT EACH ROTATIONAL CROP IN 2024; EVALUATE ROTATIONAL CROP RESPONSES IN 2024; SEE PROTOCOL FOR ADDITIONAL TRIAL REQUIREMENTS
