PER REQUESTOR, GOOD FIT; TIAFENACIL WOULD BE AN EFFECTIVE GROUP 14 POST-EMERGENT BURNDOWN BROADLEAF HERBICIDE THAT WOULD PROVIDE A SAFER ALTERNATIVE TO PARAQUAT FOR HANDLERS AND APPLICATORS. WEED SPECTRUM IS SIMILAR TO GROUP 22 HERBICIDES SUCH AS PARAQUAT. APPLIED AS A DORMANT APPLICATION WOULD PROVIDE EFFECTIVE BURNDOWN OF WINTER ANNUALS AND POSSIBLY EARLY SUMMER ANNUALS. WOULD LIKELY BE TANK MIXED WITH SOIL ACTIVE HERBICIDES AT THE DORMANT TIMING. ADDITIONALLY, IT COULD BE USED BETWEEN CUTTINGS OF DOUBLE-CUT MINT FOR IMPROVED SUMMER ANNUAL WEED CONTROL FOR SUCH WEEDS AS THE PIGWEED COMPLEX, MUSTARDS, KOCHIA.

PCR Use Pattern: |
0.044-0.066 LB AI/A; DORMANT MINT: APPLY UP TO 0.066 LB AI/A WHILE MINT IS DORMANT IN THE LATE WINTER/EARLY SPRING. BETWEEN CUTTINGS; APPLY UP TO 0.066 LB AI/A AFTER THE FIRST CUTTING IS HARVESTED AND WEEDS HAVE SPROUTED; APPLY WITH ADEQUATE VOLUME OF WATER (20 GPA) FOR OPTIMUM COVERAGE; USE WITH MSO AT 1% V/V RATE

Residue Protocol Use Pattern: |
USE THE TIAFENACIL 339SC PRODUCT (30% ACTIVE, OR 2.83 LB AI OF TIAFENACIL ACTIVE INGREDIENT/GAL OF PRODUCT); MAKE 1 BROADCAST GROUND APPLIC OF 0.044 LB AI/A, IN 10-50 GPA, BEFORE MINT BREAKS DORMANCY, THEN SAMPLE AT COMMERCIAL MATURITY; THEN MAKE A 2ND GROUND APPLIC (SAME RATE, GPA, ETC.) AFTER THE 1ST CUTTING, AND HARVEST AGAIN AT COMMERCIAL MATURITY; ALL APPLIC SHALL INCLUDE A LABELED RATE OF AN MSO ADJUVANT; IN THE TRIAL FOR PROCESSING (MINT OIL), INCLUDE A 2ND TREATED PLOT AT A 2X RATE (0.088 LB AI/A), AND COLLECT SAMPLES ONLY AT COMMERCIAL MATURITY FOR THE 1ST CUTTING

INSTEAD OF 3 AND 6 OZ/A, THE RATES WERE DIALED BACK TO 2 AND 4 OZ/A IN DISCUSSION WITH RESEARCHERS AND ISK:01/22; IN THE PERFORMANCE PROTOCOL FOR 2022 TRIALS: EVALUATING PERFORMANCE OF TIAFENACIL (REVITON 2.83 SC); EACH TRIAL WILL LAST 2 YEARS, WITH TREATMENTS APPLIED TO THE SAME PLOTS IN YEAR 2; TESTING 2 RATES OF REVITON (0.045 AND 0.09 LB AI/A, PLUS AN ADJUVANT PER THE REVITON LABEL), IN 15-20 GPA, COMPARED TO A COMMERCIAL STANDARD; MAKE 1 (BROADCAST TO EMERGED WEEDS AND DORMANT MINT) OR 2 (BROADCAST TO EMERGED WEEDS AND DORMANT MINT, AND AFTER 1ST CUT) REVITON APPLIC (SEE PROTOCOL FOR DETAILED APPLIC TIMINGS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS); EVALUATE CROP INJURY, CROP YIELD AND WEED CONTROL; 2023 PERFORMANCE PROTOCOL CONTINUES 2022 TRIALS ON THE SAME PLOTS, AND ESTABLISHES YEAR ONE OF 3 NEW TRIALS; SEE 2023 PROTOCOL FOR ALL DETAILS
