IN VIVO AND IN VITRO ASSAYS SHOWED THAT CYMOXANIL SUPPRESSED DISEASE DEVELOPMENT, DECREASED PLANT MORTALITY DUE TO CROWN ROT, AND REDUCED % FRUITS WITH LEATHER ROT SYMPTOMS. IT IS A PROMISING TOOL FOR AN INTEGRATED DISEASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM ACROSS NURSERY AND FRUIT PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.

PHYTOPHTHORA CROWN ROT INCIDENCE WAS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED BY CURZATE 60 DF (CYMOXANIL) 5 OZ/A APPLIED THROUGH DRIP AND AS FOLIAR SPRAYS. SIMILARLY, NO LEATHER ROT INCIDENT WAS FOUND WHEN CURZATE (CYMOXANIL) 8 OZ/A APPLIED AS A FOLIAR SPRAY BUT UNTREATED CONTROL HAD 100% LEATHER ROT INCIDENCE. PHYTOTOXICITY WAS NOT OBSERVED ON ANY TREATMENT.

5 oz of Curzate 60 DF (Cymoxanil) applied 3 times through drip at 21-day interval to strawberry cultivar “Florida 127” showed significant control of Phytophthora crown rot incidence and AUDPC compared to non-treated inoculated control. Also, one application of 5 oz/A Curzate 60 DF treated harvested strawberry fruits had no leather rot incidence but non-treated control showed 100% disease incidence. No signs of phytotoxicity were observed.

5 oz of Curzate 60 DF (Cymoxanil) and standard registered control Ridomil Gold SL (Mefenoxam) 1 pt/A applied 7 times through drip (First 1 to 6 applications at 6±1 day interval and last application at 23 day interval) to strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa ‘Monterey’). No disease developed in in the inoculated control. No difference found in vigor or yield among treatments. No phytotoxicity was observed.
