TOMATO (PROCESSING) (08-10A = TOMATO SUBGROUP) NEED E/CS DATA ONLY (03C)
Reasons for need: FUSARIUM WILT OF TOMATO, RACE 3; DELAYED DEVELOPMENT OF DISEASE SYMPTOMS TO ALLOW FOR FRUIT DEVELOPMENT AND CANOPY COVERAE, THROUGH TO HARVEST; THERE IS NO EFFECTIVE FUMIGATION OR FUNGICIDE TOOL FOR THIS DISEASE CURRENTLY; MANAGEMENT PRACTICES USED ARE ROTATION OUT OF INFESTED BLOCKS OR THE SWITCH TO A RESISTANT CULTIVAR; RESISTANT CULTIVARS WILL NOT BE UP TO INDUSTRY STANDARD OR COMMON ENOUGH FOR WIDESPREAD USE FOR 5-10 YEARS; WITH THIS PATHOGEN SPREADING RAPIDLY THROUGHOUT THE STATE THERE IS AN APPROXIMATE 5% OF TOTAL INDUSTRY ACREAGE NEWLY DISCOVERED IN SEASON ANNUALLY, WITH 20% YIELD LOSS IN THESE NEWLY DISCOVERED ACRES; WITH A TOTAL FARM GATE VALUE IN CALIFORNIA OF 900 MILLION, THE ANNUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT OF NO IN-SEASON MANAGEMENT TOOL IS CONSERVATIVELY 9 MILLION USD; PER CA ME-TOO REQUEST (SAFFLOWER GROWERS), SAFFLOWER IS AN IMPORTANT ROTATIONAL CROP FOR PROCESSING TOMATO GROWERS, AND FUSARIUM IS A DEVASTATING DISEASE; PER FL ME-TOO REQUEST: NEEDED FOR FUSARIUM WILT CONTROL
Efficacy/Crop Safety (E/CS) Data Required:
E/CS Research Comments:
Comments: KEY EXPORT MARKETS NOTED AS MEXICO, CANADA, JAPAN, EUROPE; THERE IS A TOLERANCE OF 0.6 PPM FOR FRUITING VEG GROUP 8-10, SO THIS NEED MAY BE COVERED:08/19; MFG SUPPORTS THIS REQUEST AS RESEARCHABLE; NEED TO CONFIRM IF CURRENT TOLERANCE COVERS THIS:09/17/19; STATUS CHANGED TO POTENTIAL, E/CS DATA BEFORE RESIDUE, AT FUW:09/24/19

Aegerter, Brenna 19-CA-DMP RECD 4775.pdf MIRAVIS AT 8.55 AND 13.7 FL OZ/A APPLIED DRENCH AT PLANTING FOLLOWED BY DRIP AT 30 DAYS; EFFICACY ON FUSARIUM WILT COMPARABLE TO REGISTERED PRODUCT K-PAM.
Vallad, Gary 16-FL-DMP RECD 4776.pdf ADEPIDYN AT 6.7 FL OZ/A APPLIED DRENCH AT TRANSPLANTING FOLLOWED BY DRIP EVERY 3 WEEKS; ALTHOUGH DATA WERE NOT STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT, ADEPIDYN RESULTED IN LESS INCIDENCE OF FUSARIUM WILT, TALLER PLANTS AND HIGHER YIELD THAN UNTREATED CHECK.
