Rely 280 banded sequentially along trellised ‘Purple’ passion fruit at 164 or 246 fl oz/a (3.0 or 4.5 lb ai/a). Passion fruit was established May 2023 in a Daguey clay. Four applications of each treatment were made, approximately four months apart, beginning in Sept 2023, each including ammonium sulfate at 3 lb/a. Excellent weed control from both rates 14 days after application (DAA) and continuing through 60 DAA. No crop injury was documented from either rate, but after the second application timing, foliage loss was noticed and continued to worsen through the remainder of the trial. At trial termination, passionfruit trunk circumference at the soil surface was significantly reduced by both rates of glufosinate, but difference were only 4mm or less.
