In study No. 1, treatments applied as a foliar spray to fig plants for the control of black fig fly (BFF) included Delegate 250 WG (spinetoram), Surround WP (kaolin clay), Danitol 2.4EC (fenpropathrin), Pyganic (pyrethrin), Venerate XC (Burkholderia spp.), Grandevo (Chromobacterium subtsugae), and NoFly (Isaria fumosoroseus). The mean number of BFF-infested fruits was lowest in the Delegate and Danitol treatments, although it was lowest overall in the untreated control plots. In study No. 2, GF-120 Fruit Fly Bait (spinosad) was compared to an untreated control. The GF-120 treatment led to significantly lower mean abundance of BFF-infested fruits relative to the untreated control. Some signs of phytotoxicity were observed in study No. 2.
