Residual herbicides applied once to soil along established agave growing in a Cerini clay loam.  Treatments included Chateau SW (flumioxazin) at 12 oz/a (0.38 lbai/a), Trellis (isoxaben) at 1.33 lb /a (1.0 lb ai/a), Alion (indaziflam) at 3.5 fl oz/a (0.046 lb ai/a), Prowl H2O (pendimethalin) at 4 qt/a (3.8 lb ai/a), GoalTender (oxyfluorfen) at 3 pt/a (1.5 lb ai/a), Matrix (rimfulsuron) at 4 oz/a (0.063 lb ai/a), Mission (flazasulfuron) at 2.14 oz/a (0.033 lb ai/a), Direx (diuron) at 1.6 qt/a (1.6 lb ai/a), Barricade 65 WG (prodiamine) at 1.0 lb/a (0.65 lb ai/a), and Dimension (dithiopyr) at 2 pt/a (0.5 lb ai/a).  Weed control data not collected due to sparse weed population. None of the treatments caused any crop injury.

Postemergence herbicides post-directed once along established agave growing in a Cerini clay loam.  No injury seen from any post-directed treatment through 62 days after treatment (DAT).  Glyphosate: Roundup PowerMAX3 at 20.4 fl oz/a (0.75 lb ae/a) + AMS and Rodeo at 32 fl oz/a (1.0 lb ae/a) + NIS included in treatment list.  Weed control 29 DAT was identical from each product, ranging from 63 to 83%, depending on species. Carfentrazone:  Shark EW at 2 fl oz/a (0.03 lb ai/a) + COC provide poor weed control 29 DAT.  Pyraflufen:  Venue at 3 fl oz/a (0.004 lb ai/a) + COC provided no control of weeds present in this trial.  Florpyrauxifen:  Hulk at 1 pt/a (0.026 lb ai/a) + MSO provided no control of weeds present in this trial.  2,4-D Choline:  Embed Extra at 2 pt/a (0.95 lb ae/a) provided poor control of weeds present in this trial.  Quinclorac:  Quinstar at 12 fl oz/a (0.375 lb ai/a) + COC + AMS provided no control of weeds present in this trial.  Tiafenacil:  Tiafenacil 70 WG at 1 oz/a (0.044 lb ai/a) + MSO controlled weeds ~50% 29 DAT.  Clethodim:  Select Max at 12 fl oz/a (0.09 lb ai/a) + NIS did not control the broadleaf weeds present, as expected.  Saflufenacil:  Treevix at 1 oz/a (0.044 lb ai/a) + MSO + AMS provided ~60% control of weeds present at 29 DAT.  This treatment was also applied broadcast over the crop and controlled weed ~50% at 29 DAT.  This treatment also caused crop injury, which was still nearly 20% at 62 DAT.

Residual herbicides applied twice, 75 days apart, to soil along both sides of agave transplanted in a Cerini clay loam approximately 20 months prior to first application.  Treatments included Chateau SW (flumioxazin) at 12 or 24 oz/a (0.38 or 0.76 lb ai/a), Alion (indaziflam) at 3.5 or 7.0 fl oz/a (0.046 or 0.092 lb ai/a), Prowl H2O (pendimethalin) at 4 or 8 qt/a (3.8 or 7,6 lb ai/a), GoalTender (oxyfluorfen) at 3 or 6 pt/a (1.5 or 3.0 lb ai/a), and Mission at 2.14 or 4.28 oz/a (0.033 or 0.066 lb ai/a).  No crop injury was observed from any treatment through 28 days after the second application. Weed control was not collected after second application due to farm crew hand-weeding activities.  Flumioxazin:  Both rates provided excellent overall weed control 28 days after first application (DAA)  and ≥ 88% groundsel control 75 DAA.  Indaziflam:  Overall weed control was 50 to 55% at 28 DAA and groundsel control 75 DAA was 40 to 45%.  Pendimethalin:  Overall weed control 28 DAA was 35 to 40% from pendimethalin treatments and groundsel control from both rates 75 DAA was slightly below 50%.  Oxyfluorfen: Both rates provided ≥ 98% overall weed control 28 DAA and ≥ 96%  groundsel control 75 DAA.  Flazasulfuron: Good overall weed control 28 DAA and groundsel control 75 DAA was seen from both rates.

Postemergence herbicides applied twice, 75 days apart, to weeds and soil along both sides of agave transplanted in a Cerini clay loam approximately 20 months prior to first application.  Treatments included Roundup PowerMax 3 (glyphosate) at 26.7 or 53.3 fl oz/a (1.0 or 2.0 ae/a), Suppress (capric + caprylic acid) at 6% or 12% v/v, Treevix WG (saflufenacil) at 1 or 2 oz/a (0.044 or 0.088 lb ai/a), Hulk (florpyrauxifen) at 1 or 2 pt/a (0.026 or 0.052 lb ai/a), and Select Max (clethodim) at 12 or 24 fl oz/a (0.09 or 0.18 lb ai/a).   No crop injury was observed from any treatment through 28 days after the second application. Weed control was not collected after second application due to farm crew hand-weeding activities.  Glyphosate:   Both rates provided good overall weed control 28 days after first application (DAA)  and ≥ 98% groundsel control 75 DAA. Capric + Caprilic Acid:  Overall weed control was 68% from the low rate and 80 % from the high rate 28 DAA.  Groundsel control 75 DAA was >85% from both rates.  Saflufenacil: Both raets provided ≥ 98%  overall weed control 28 DAA and groundsel control 75 DAA.  Florpyrauxifen:  Overall weed control 28 DAA was >80% from the low rate but 56% from the high rate.  Both rates provided good groundsel control 75 DAA   Clethodim:    At 28 DAA no weed control was observed from either rate.  Groundsel control 75 DAA was 81% from the low rate and 61% from the high rate.
