E/CS Research Comments: WITH THE 2023 PERFORMANCE PROTOCOL, STARTING CONDUCT OF 2-YR TRIALS, WITH THE SAME TREATMENTS APPLIED TO THE SAME PLOTS EACH YEAR; TESTING TWO RATES OF MBI-015 ALONE (32 AND 64 FL OZ PRODUCT/A), VS A CARFENTRAZONE STANDARD AND COMPARED WITH THE MBI-015 32 OZ RATE + CARFENTRAZONE; APPLY IN 30 GPA; SEE PROTOCOL FOR MANY MORE USE PATTERN AND PRODUCT MIXING REQUIREMENTS; EVALUATE CROP INJURY, DEFOLIATION, WEED CONTROL, PLANT HEIGHT AND CROP YIELD (CONE YIELD/A)

Moretti, Marcelo 22-OR-DMP RECD 5260.pdf 08/22 MBI-015 APPLIED ONCE OR TWICE IN SPRING AT 9.8 OR 19.7 G AI/HA TO CONTROL EMERGED WEEDS AND EARLY, UNWANTED HOP SHOOTS. SEQUENTIAL APPLICATIONS WERE MADE 2 WEEKS APART AND PRIOR TO VERTICAL TRAINING OF SELECTED HOP BINES. HOP SHOOT CONTROL 14 DAYS AFTER FIRST TREATMENT (DAT-1) RANGED FROM 37-45%, SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THAN CARFENTRAZONE STANDARD. AT DAT-2, HOP SHOOT CONTROL FROM BOTH RATES APPLIED SEQUENTIALLY WAS 48 AND 63% AND WERE SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN ALL OTHER TREATMENTS. KOCHIA CONTROL FROM SEQUENTIAL APPLICATIONS OF MBI-015 WAS NOT DIFFERENT FROM CARFENTRAZONE AT 14 OR 28 DAT-2, BUT WAS NUMERICALLY GREATER. MBI-015 APPLIED SEQUENTIALLY PROVIDED 52 AND 60% PRICLY LETTUCE CONTROL 14 DAT-2 AND WAS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER THAN CARFENTRAZONE. ALL TREATMENTS PROVIVED COMPLETE FLIX WEED CONTROL.
Moretti, Marcelo 23-ORP14 RECD 5657.pdf 12/23 MBI-015 (active ingredient, fermented products of Berkholderia rinojensis, strain A396) applied at 10 to 15 or 20 to 30 g ai/HA to ‘Cascade’ hops growing in a Chehalis silty clay loam. MBI-015 was applied broadcast over dormant and emerging hops followed by early and mid-summer post-direct applications. Treatments also included tank-mixes of MBI-015 with carfentrazone at 35 g ai/HA. MBI-015 caused no crop injury, regardless of rate, timing or number of applications. MBI-015 suppressed white clover but did not have activity on other weeds present. The MBI-015 formulation used did not dissolve adequately and clogged sprayer filter.
Walsh, Dr. Doug 23-WA-DMP RECD 5696.pdf 03/24 MBI-015 (active ingredient, fermented products of Berkholderia rinojensis, strain A396) applied at 10 to15 or 20 to 30 g ai/HA to ‘Tomahawk’ hops. MBI-015 was applied broadcast over dormant and emerging hops followed by early and mid-summer post-direct applications. Treatments also included tank-mixes of MBI-015 with carfentrazone at 35 g ai/HA. No weed control data collected due to excellent weed control from residual herbicide program. MBI-015 caused no significant foliar injury or reductions in plant vigor or yield, regardless of rate, timing or number of applications.
