WSR Historical Need: broadleaf weeds
There are currently no herbicides registered for broadcast application to sweetpotato with postemergence activity on broadleaf weeds. POST control is limited to hand-removal and repeated cultivation events.

DIRECTIONS OF USE: Apply 3 to 4.5 oz ai/acre metribuzin to sweetpotatoes at layby to control small, emerged weeds and provide residual weed control. Applications can be made with S-metolachlor or devrinol at labeled rates. No surfactant or crop oil should be added. Applications should be broadcasted.
LIMITATIONS: Metribuzin will not control larger escaped weeds. Application may result in chlrosis and then necrosis of older sweetpotato leaves.
