WSR Historical RB (CA) is requesting a WR "A" priority; this is registered for non-bearing citrus and this request is for bearing citrus. (RS 8/15/12)

Likely a regional project as the current registrant is CDFA (RS 8/15/12)

NO (CA) Tulare county farm advisor; voles are destroying trees by girdling them; no alternatives available; "A" priotity over other citrus needs in his area (RS 8/17/12)

MF (FL) Currently not problem in FL groves. (RS 8/21/12)

SM (CDFG) Chlorophacinone is a first generation AR so it is less toxic and less persistent. We've had far fewer incidents resulting from both chlorophacinone and diphacinone than the 2nd generation products.
That said, it still has the potential to cause secondary exposure to wildlife. The monitoring studies I've seen of predators and scavengers show about 5-13% have been exposed to first generation products (as opposed to 70-90% of the 2nd generation products). Right now there don't seem to be great options for field vertebrate pest control. The best current alternative is the 1st generations and making sure that use practices are put in place to limit secondary exposure. I've seen recent work on combining 1st generation products with other ingredients like antibiotics or cholecalciferol that seems promising because it retains the efficacy but reduces the secondary exposure problems. (RS 8/27/12)

VH/DS(CDFA) Neither USEPA nor FDA are going to allow possible anticoagulant residues in a food crop. Therefore this project is a non-starter (their words) (RS 8/30/12)

Asking RB about a bait station use? Could we then pursue a non-food use if it was efficacious used in that manner? (RS 8/31/12)
